Slater Mill

Slater Mill is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, and the first textile mill built on the Blackstone River. They haven't had a strong brand for quite some time, and needed one soon. Before we could embark on the new website design, we needed to design a logo. We had a few elements that we could work with – the similar steeples on the Wilkinson and Slater Mills, the water-powered wheel, cotton plants, textile patterns... In the end, we managed to combine a few of them. The type treatment was also inspired by a Library of Congress photo of the old mill from the early 1800s.
